We’re in the final hours of work before the launch of a major new client’s website. Empty Street did the database and design, and we came in to create the web video and Flash elements.
Lately we’ve been trying to educate clients on how to embrace Flash without causing all sorts of usability and visibility problems. We’ve developed a pretty great workflow and design solution, which we’re using for the very first time on this web design project.
This particular project really pushed us, and I can’t wait until we get signoff from the client so I can tell you more about it. This project will probably end up as a whitepaper on the Genius Monkeys website at a later date.

Today we did some post production work on a PSA for the Jewish Film Festival in Los Angeles (May 11th, 2008) to help out a friend who worked on “Couch Cases”.
There wasn’t a lot of heavy lifting needed, as the spot centers around a live action puppet show. It should be up on YouTube soon, though, and it was a fun couple of hours.

Genius Monkeys has purchased Zaxwerks 3D products as part of our digital media production pipeline. Zaxwerks creates plugins and standalone applications that work with Adobe After Effects to streamline production and increase our creativity.
We’ll be putting Zaxwerks’ ProAnimator to work next week on a new television spot for Biotene PBF Mouthwash. Look for a step-by-step whitepaper on how we built this spot, once it’s complete.

I’m happy to report that we’ve upgraded our pipeline to now include the entire suite of products from Imagineer Systems in the UK. Imagineer pioneered a new planar tracking system, and has integrated it into a suite of products that will help us do our jobs better.
We now have online suites with Mokey, Monet, Mocha, and Motor.

We’re now working on a new television commercial, which you’ll be able to see on a network station near you very soon. You’ll also be able to see it online, of course. We wouldn’t be living up to our mission if we didn’t craft a multi-platform campaign for our clients.

Yeah baby, this is a post production week and I’m neck deep in Shake. I’m replacing all the greenscreen with a subtle white gradient right now. I absolutely love making stuff happen. And yes, I’m aware that the monitor on the left needs to be recalibrated.
